Boys Win 5th Consecutive Winter Somerset County Relay Championship!

The boys placed first in the shuttle hurdle relay and the 4×800. Matthew Fukushima (Senior), Kaleb Huang (Junior), Edward Condolon (Senior) and Brenden McMahon (Junior) took home the win in the 4×800 for Ridge. The boys’ shuttle hurdle time of 32.78 broke Ridge’s school record after 16 years and is currently the 4th fastest time in the state for this event. On the relay was Owen Mays (Senior), Joseph Dachnowicz (Junior), Jared Rascio (Junior) and Jacob Medenilla (Freshman) who stepped up and ran well to secure the win. Jared Rascio also competed in the 4×200, high jump, and 4×400, helping the team score in all 4 of those events.

The boys also placed 2nd in the 4×400 relay, the sprint medley relay, the distance medley relay, the high jump relay, and the shot put relay. The boys captured the title over Hillsborough, winning 64-52.

The girls also won the 4×800, running 9:52 to win by over 30 seconds. On the relay was Rachel Biondo (Sophomore), Elayna Douglas (Senior), Katharine Frank (Senior), Ryan Ireland (Junior). The girls also placed 3rd in the 4×400 and 4th in the sprint medley relay.
