Ridge Athletes Medal at Meet of Champions

On Thursday, June 15 th the Ridge boys and girls track & field teams competed in the NJSIAA Meet of Champions at Franklin High School.

The girls 4×800 meter relay got things started with a 3rd place finish, running 9:32.18. The team of freshman Rachel Biondo (2:25.96), junior Elayna Douglas (2:26.58), senior Maia Ryan (2:20.95) and junior Katharine Frank (2:18.71) all posted personal bests in the same race to post a season best team time of 18 seconds!

The boys 4×800 meter relay followed with a 3 rd place finish of their own, posting a season best of 7:52.83. The team was made up of juniors Dev Patel (1:57.77), Matthew Fukushima (1:58.94) and Edward Condolon (1:58.49), with senior Patrick Doran (1:57.65) on the anchor.

Sophomore Brenden McMahon continued the trend with his 3 rd place finish in the 3200 meter run in a time of 9:17.24, his third sub 9:20 run in a twelve day span.

In the Adaptive Boys Wheelchair Races, sophomore Aidan Cairns took to the track with first place finishes in both the 100 meter (32.90) and 400 meter (2:02.97) events.
